Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor has written a children's book about an ordinary and yet eventful day in her life as a child, in a style as precise and deep as a clear, blue, high desert sky. She grew up on a ranch, The Lazy B, in the Southwest, where along with her daily chores and responsibilities, one of her great joys was riding horses -- and one horse in particular. We asked Justice O'Connor about the origins of the book, and of its title character, Chico.
